5 things you're doing that damage your hair

If you want healthy, shiny hair, you should stop these five habits ASAP! These are things that lots of girls do, so you may not realize that they're hurting your locks.

You always have your hair tied up
If you always have a hair tie in your hair, it can cause breakage. To fix this, mix up your hairstyles instead of doing the same ponytail in the same place every day. Use things like clips or headbands to keep your hair out of your face too.

Dyeing your hair often.
Stars like Demi Lovato love to mix up t heir hair color all the time, but doing it really frequently really damages your hair. Plus, those trips to the salon to color your hair also involve lots of head-styling products or bleaches. Changing up your hair color is fun, but limit how many times you do it.

You blow-dry, curl, or straighten your hair every day.
Styling your hair can make it look really pretty, but all those heat styling products are terrible for your hair if you use them every day. It's OK once in a while, but figure out ways your hair looks great with its natural texture. Plus, always use a heat protectant when you're using styling tools on your hair.

You can't stop touching your hair.
Whether you play with your hair, flip it around, or pick at your split ends, constantly touching your hair is bad for it. The dirt your hands pick up throughout the day gets distributed in your hair instead. Use dry shampoo to stop your stands from getting greasy.

Using lightening products
Yep, even lemon juice counts here! It's better than dyeing your hair, but the acid in lemon juice can make your hair kind of straw-like. Sun exposure also isn't great for your hair. Remember to use a sun recovery spray or a hair mask after trying to lighten your hair.
