Fun things to do this summer

FUN THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMERSchool is almost over for the year! You've probably still got some last projects to get through, but then it's 3 months of freedom.

So here are some fun ideas for things to do with your summer vacation.

  • Try a new haircut. If you hate it, it has all summer to grow out before school starts!

  • Live stream a concert with your friends. If you can't get to a super cool festival or your favorite band's concert, check to see if they're live-streaming it online.
  • See some of the summer's hottest movies – The Fault in Our Stars, X Men: Days of Future Past, and Guardians of the Galaxy are some of the most popular ones!
  • Have a marathon of a T.V. show you didn't watch the first time around. Netflix has a ton of fun 90s ones! You can try setting up a movie night in the backyard if someone has a projector (you just need a big sheet or a wall).
  • Invite your friends over for a session of manicures and pedicures. You could also go to the mall and get them done.
  • Try a psychic reading for fun!
  • Try stargazing with your friends at a sleepover.
  • Have your friends over for a potluck. Have everyone bring their favorite family recipe.
  • Use your spare time to get in shape. Try out different exercise classes and find one that you like.
  • If you prefer being outside, try a new outdoor activity, like rock climbing, water tubing on the river, or water-skiing.
  • Dress up with your friends and go out to dinner and the movies. Even if it's the same place you guys always go, dressing up makes it feel special.
  • Go to an outdoor concert or sports game in your city. Take a picnic and some friends!
  • Put together a scavenger hunt with your friends (ask your parents and neighbors about this one first!).
  • See if you can get a summer job. Why not use your spare time to make some cash?
  • Try out some new D.I.Y. Projects
  • Have a game night with your family.
  • Print out your favorite pictures from this school year and make a scrapbook.
  • Practice a new instrument or language. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube!
  • Write someone an old-fashioned letter, or write a creative story just for you.
  • Keep a journal or start a blog about your life (ask your parents first if you want to blog).
  • Have a day out at an amusement park with your friends or family, even if it's just mini golf.
  • Organize your room and your closet. Bonus: your mom will be happy about this too!
  • Of course, hit the pool or the beach. It always feels good to be near the water.
